To make the journey smooth and easy we have created this information page for anyone interested in becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
Please find below the detailed steps in order to guide any individual in successfully become an RBT and start making a difference in others’ lives!
1. Completion of the RBT 40 hour mandatory course:

- Click on last tab on the top banner titled "E-Learning" and from the drop down options click the 40 hour RBT course. Add to cart and fill out basic information to get started with the course!
- A shorter version of the course can be found but at a cost.

2. Creation of a personal account on the Board website:

Credentials of BCBA willing to complete your Competency Assessment.
3. Complete a background check

5. Upload the Competency Assessment to the BACB and pay the application fee.
​
- Please note at this stage you must have the BCBA that completed the Competency Assessment log into their account on BACB and confirm that you are an eligible candidate and meet the minimum age and education requirements.
6. After your background is cleared and your application through the BACB is completed you will receive an email to create a Pearson Vue account.

- If you notice you have not received an email after a few business days regarding account creation details you may want to follow up by contacting the BACB board at their contact page listed below:

7. Create a Pearson Vue account and schedule the exam.

- Prior to scheduling the RBT exam you will be prompted to have all documentations required uploaded in order to successfully be scheduled for an exam date.
8. Once passing the RBT exam the Certificate must be submitted to Child Behavior Center.
- After submitted the Certificate upon passing, we will assist the individual with obtaining Medicaid number and NPI number.

Now you are all set and ready to begin your journey ahead as a Registered Behavior Technician at
